Dearest Friends of Stradivari,

summer has arrived with most of the countries in Europe and around the world loosening up restrictions for travelling and meeting after this long and terrible pandemic. So, also “friends of Stradivari” wants to come back to real life and get together for a joyful reunion next September, a time with a lot of events in Cremona, worth to be thoroughly enjoyed.   Here is the clue of our events:

• September 14^th – 9 pm. Concert with winning instruments of past Triennale Violinmaking Competitions in collaboration with Monteverdi Conservatory of Cremona. In the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium we will celebrate the 8^th birthday of the MdV and the starting of the 16th edition of the Triennale Competition.
• September 22^nd – 8.30 pm. Award ceremony of the 16th International “Triennale” Violinmaking Competition in the beautiful location of Teatro Ponchielli and concert with the winning instruments. After many months of uncertainty we finally got a very good number of competitors (more than 250) enrolled into the Competition from all over the world. An unexpected and encouraging result!
• September 23 – 11 am. In the morning there will be the opening of the exhibition of the “Triennale” instruments in the Amati Pavillion at MdV. In the evening, at 7.30 pm, the “friends of Stradivari” Gala Dinner. The location will be the courtyard of  Palazzo Trecchi, a beautiful historical palace in the heart of Cremona.
• September 24^th – 26^th. Mondomusica opens again its door after the “special edition” of last year.
• September 25^th and 26^th. Opening of the StradivariFestival (which will continue in the following two weekends) with wonderful concerts in the Arvedi Auditorium at MdV (see program on the website stradivarifestival.it)

  Other events will happen before and after from Sept. 11^th to Oct. 10^th and the full program will be soon on our website, but we want to underline that two exhibits have been prolonged and will be available for the public until the middle of October:

• “Reunion in Cremona”: unique instruments of the classic violinmaking school of Cremona belonging to the collection of the National Music Museum in Vermillion are still in town and are a true joy for string lovers;
• The second one is an outstanding exhibition called “I Violini di Vivaldi e le Figlie di Choro” a joint venture with “La Pietà” in Venice (Istituto Provinciale per l’Infanzia Santa Maria della Pietà). Ancient musical instruments acquired by Vivaldi but also a beautiful story of charity, education and musical training looked after by the great composer for many years.

We really hope you will be able to come to Cremona and participate to some of the events.

• for the reservation and the ticket purchase for the concerts of Stradivarifestival, you have to enter on Vivaticket website (https://www.vivaticket.com/it/venue/auditorium-giovanni-arvedi/5896050)
• for the participation at the Concert with winning instruments of past Triennale Violinmaking Competitions (on Sept. 14^th), at the award ceremony of the 16th International “Triennale” Violinmaking Competition (on Sept. 22^nd) and at “friends of Stradivari” Gala Dinner (on Sept. 23^rd) included in the membership fee, we kindly ask you to confirm your presence no later than Friday, Sept. 10^th.
