Lorenzo Storioni-violin 1/2-size (child’s violin), 1793

This child violin is remarkably untouched, original condition. The wood choice and  workmanship is somewhat freer and rougher than one would expect on an adult-size instrument from Storioni.

Top: two-piece, spruce

Back: one-piece, maple

Purchased by the National Music Museum from Laurence Witten family, New Haven, Connecticut, 1984.
