Girolamo Amati- violin, 1609

Signed: Label printed on paper with a handwritten date in ink. “Hieronymus Amatus Cremoneñ [blot]/[line]/ Andrea fil. F. I 6 0 9/[line]

This violin is of the smaller Amati model, about a centimeter shorter than the standar violin. It as a noticeably flat top arching combined with  more pronounced back arching.

Top: two piece, spruce

Back: one-piece, maple.
